Migration department has allowed foreigners to make use of selected electronic services that Lithuanian citizens have access to; this includes electronic administrative, public or commercial services.
Foreigners are now eligible to receive an e-resident card with an electronic identification certificate and a qualified electronic signature certificate.
The e – resident card aims to allow foreigners to have access to all the same digital services currently accessible by Lithuanian Citizens in the future.
The initial services offered to e – residents will include connection to the Electronic Government Gateway and signing of documents by e-signature, as well as connection to the Lithuanian Migration Information System (MIGRIS) through the Electronic Government Gateway.
E – applications can be submitted through MIGRIS at www.migracija.lt.
The decision is made upon physical arrival of the foreigner at the Migration Department in Lithuania.
E – resident cards will take unto 5 days to be processed and currently the collection of the card is only available at selected territorial branches of the migration Department in Lithuania.
It is also planned to make this e – resident service available in 2022 to foreigners living abroad.
