This year Lithuania’s economic growth will be the most intense in the Baltic countries
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) predicts that this year Lithuania’s economic growth will be the most intense in the Baltic countries.
This year, Lithuania’s Gross Domestic Product should grow by 3.4%, and in 2020 – by 2.7%. Latvia is forecasting economic growth of 2.8% and 2.8%, respectively, and Estonia – 3.2% and 2.9%, according to the latest IMF economic forecast. The economy of the euro area this year should grow by 1.2%, and in the 2020th – by 1.4%.
The average annual inflation this year in Lithuania should be 2.3%, and next year – 2.2%, in Latvia – 3% and 2.6%, respectively, in Estonia – 2.5 and 2.4%.
According to IMF forecasts, the unemployment rate in Lithuania this year should reach 6.1%, and next year – 6%, in Latvia unemployment this year will reach 6.5%, and next year – 6.7%, in Estonia – 4.7% each. The current account deficit in Lithuania in this and in 2020 should be 1.1%.
